With more than a decade of experience in accounting and tax planning, Umer is committed to helping business owners stay compliant and confident with their payroll—freeing them to focus on running and growing their companies.

Umer began his career at Grant Thornton LLP in 2010, quickly standing out for his leadership and technical acumen. He later rose to tax partner and Chief Operating Officer at Unity Business Advisors, Inc. (UBA), a respected CPA firm in Lynnwood, Washington, where he has helped scale operations while delivering specialized tax strategies to small businesses and high-net-worth clients.

Umer holds both a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s in taxation from the University of Washington. He is a licensed CPA in Washington State and a Certified Tax Planner through the American Institute of Certified Tax Planners. His professional experience spans tax strategy, operations management, and business advisory, making him uniquely positioned to lead payroll innovation at Izana. In recognition of his professional and community accomplishments, Umer was recently honored in 425 Business's "40 Under 40" list and was named a finalist for the Businessman of the Year Award by the Lynnwood Chamber of Commerce. These accolades highlight his leadership and impact on the business community.

Outside of the office, Umer enjoys life with his wife Unsa and daughter Izzah. He’s a passionate sports fan and former player in the Northwest Cricket League. An adventurer at heart, he’s tried everything from scuba diving to paragliding—with skydiving next on the list. Umer’s energy, curiosity, and commitment to excellence fuel both his personal and professional life.
